National Socialism and the Second World War

The destruction of the democratic order, the bringing of the state and society into line, the elimination of political opponents and the persecution of people on the basis of racist ideas also characterized the regime of Hitler and the National Socialists in Wiesbaden from 1933 onwards.

At the same time, there were citizens in the city who were committed to the resistance, such as Colonel General Ludwig Beck, the teacher Hermann Kaiser and the Social Democrat Georg Buch.
The Second World War ended for the inhabitants of Wiesbaden on March 28, 1945 with the invasion of American troops.
