Juppe, Wilhelm (called Willi)

Car painter, local politician
Born: April 3, 1904 in Dotzheim
died: December 10, 1978 in Wiesbaden

Wilhelm Juppe worked as a car painter in his father's company Carl Juppe & Sohn in the 1930s. According to his own statements, he was the leader of the Catholic Youth in Wiesbaden from 1925 to 1933. Between 1920 and 1933, he was a member of the Center Party.

From 1935 to 1945, Juppe was a member of the German Labor Front (DAF). He was also a member of the National Socialist People's Welfare Organization (NSV) from 1934 to 1945. From 1938 to 1944, Juppe held the lowest office of a cell administrator in the NSV.

Juppe justified his membership of the NSV by saying that it enabled him to continue his youth work illegally. He was summoned, warned and monitored by the Gestapo several times. In 1939, he was also suggested for membership of the NSDAP.

The Spruchkammer proceedings against Juppe in the period after the Second World War were dropped. Between 1960 and 1972, Wilhelm Juppe was a member of the Dotzheim local council for the CDU, from 1968 in the roles of senior president and deputy chairman.

A street in the Wiesbaden district of Dotzheim was named after Juppe by resolution of the city council on January 31, 1980.
