Hosting of the website www.wiesbaden.de
We host our website "www.wiesbaden.de" in Germany on web servers of Joomo GmbH. We have concluded an agreement with Joomo GmbH on data protection and data security in contractual relationships in accordance with Article 28, paragraph 3 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
Provision of the website and creation of log files
Each time you access one of our websites, your browser automatically sends the following data, which we store as log files in a log file on the web server:
- IP address
- Date and time
- URL of the page visited
- Status code of the web server
- amount of data transferred in bytes
- URL of the last website visited (referrer)
- the web browser used (user agent)
Legal basis for data processing
We process the data on the basis of Article 6 (1e) GDPR in conjunction with Section 3 HDSIG. Data logged when accessing the city's website will only be transmitted to third parties if we are legally obliged to do so or if disclosure is necessary for legal or criminal prosecution in the event of attacks on communication technology. Data will not be passed on in other cases.
Purpose of data processing
When the website is accessed, the visitor's current IP address is recorded in order to provide the requested website. This communication is stored on the server for 14 days to protect against misuse and attacks in order to ensure the security and stable operation of the website.
Storage duration
The log data is automatically deleted after 14 days.
Possibility of objection and removal
The collection of data for the provision of the website and the storage of data in log files is absolutely necessary for the operation of the website. The user has no option to object to this.
Technical cookies
The website uses technically necessary cookies. These are also known as session cookies. A session cookie ensures that the web server assigns requests for pages, images or other content to a specific user or device. This cookie is only valid for the current browser session and is deleted when the browser is closed. Among other things, it stores the anonymized IP address, date and time, the URL of the page visited, the status code of the web server, the amount of data transferred, the last website visited (referrer) and the web browser used (user agent).
When using personalization (login), a PHP session is created for the login for the duration of the browser session.
This PHP session is also created/used when using the data protection barriers (activation of external services). If the activation takes place, technically unnecessary cookies are set by third-party providers in order to be able to open the data protection barriers for the corresponding service on other pages of the website without being asked again.
If the use of cookies is deactivated in your browser, it is still possible to read our site.
Legal basis for data processing
The legal basis for the processing of personal data using technically necessary cookies is Article 6 (1e) GDPR in conjunction with Section 3 HDSIG and Section 25 (2) TTDSG. § Section 3 HDSIG and Section 25 (2) TTDSG.
Duration of storage
Session cookies are deleted at the end of the session.
In principle, you can decide for yourself in your Internet browser whether cookies remain on your computer. You can deactivate or restrict the transmission of cookies by changing the corresponding settings.
Web analysis through Matomo - statistical data
We use the open source software Matomo for the statistical evaluation and analysis of our websites. We have deactivated the tracking cookies in Matomo so that no cookies are sent to your computer. Your IP address is also anonymized so that no personal reference is possible. Anonymization is achieved by shortening the IP address. This means that no conclusions can be drawn about you. We use the anonymized data to analyse and improve our website. Matomo collects certain technical information based on the data transmitted by your browser. These are
- User IP address (according to IP anonymization, 1 byte shortened, e.g. 192.168.100.xxx)
- Date and time of the request
- Title of the page accessed (page title)
- URL of the page accessed (Page URL)
- URL of the page that was accessed before the current page (referrer URL)
- Screen resolution used
- Time in the local user's time zone
- Files that were clicked on and downloaded (download)
- Links to an external domain that were clicked on (outlink)
- Page generation time (the time it takes the web server to generate the pages and then download them from the user: Page speed)
- Location of the user: country, region, city, approximate latitude and longitude (geolocation)
- Main language of the browser used (Accept-Language header)
- User-Agent of the browser used (User-Agent header)
Matomo is only used on our web servers. Your data is only stored there. It is not passed on to third parties.
Purpose of data processing
With the results from the analysis of the statistical data, we can optimize the content and structure of our website and align it with the interests of our visitors. By anonymizing the IP address, a personal reference is no longer possible.
Legal basis for data processing
The data is not personal at any time, so the scope of the General Data Protection Regulation does not apply.
Storage duration
Matomo works with a so-called "server-side fingerprint". This is a method by which a website recognizes visitors without using cookies. Technical features of the device are combined to create a temporary code. This changes randomly every 24 hours so that long-term recognition is not possible. As a result, the web analysis remains anonymous and GDPR-compliant.
The generated statistics and underlying data are not deleted as they do not contain any personal data.
JavaScript
Our website uses JavaScript. JavaScript is a platform-independent computer language that can be used to provide dynamic services. Most of our services and online forms can also be used without JavaScript. However, we recommend activating JavaScript in the web browser in order to be able to use all additional functions such as the watch list.
Automatic translation with DeepL Pro
The City of Wiesbaden would like to offer you the opportunity to read the content in other languages. For this purpose, we use the translation service of DeepL Pro. DeepL SE is a third-party provider (DeepL SE, Maarweg 165, 50825 Cologne) that automatically translates the content. You can find the function via the globe icon in the header and in the menu. By clicking on the respective language, you can visit the already translated pages in the selected language. No personal data is transmitted to DeepL.
Disclaimer
We assume no liability for the accuracy, reliability or timeliness of the information translated by DeepL. The City of Wiesbaden has no influence on the translation quality. There is also no claim to the complete translation of the content on wiesbaden.de - it is therefore possible that some elements, applications and files (e.g. PDFs, images, graphics etc.) cannot be translated. There is no liability claim for any damages incurred. Machine translation does not replace manual translation by certified linguists.
Route planner: Link to Google Maps
The state capital of Wiesbaden would like to offer visitors to wiesbaden.de the option of routing routes. For this purpose, we link externally to Google Maps.
The state capital of Wiesbaden has not integrated the Google Maps service into its website. Instead, you will find a link to Google Maps in every contact that offers a map ("Open route planner" link).
Google Maps is a third-party provider (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). By using Google Maps, data is transmitted to Google. By default, Google Maps is not active. This only happens when you have clicked on the link "Open route planner (Google Maps)". You will then leave wiesbaden.de and access content on Google servers. If you do not want your data to be transmitted to Google, do not click on the link or close the route planner in the browser by clicking on "X".
Google collects, stores and processes information in order to provide users with better services. This includes, for example, the language used, but also includes the entire surfing behavior. In addition to the URL of the page visited, your IP address is also transmitted. The state capital of Wiesbaden has no influence whatsoever on the data collected and data processing procedures by Google.
