Declaration on accessibility
Declaration on accessibility for www.wiesbaden.de
Declaration on digital accessibility for www.wiesbaden.de and for the so-called microsites, which are based on the same technology.
As a public body within the meaning of Directive (EU) 2016/2102 (opens in a new tab), the state capital of Wiesbaden is obliged to make its websites and mobile applications accessible. This is based on the Hessian Disability Equality Act (HessBGG) (opens in a new tab) and the Hessian Ordinance on Accessible Information Technology (HVBIT) (opens in a new tab) for the implementation of the aforementioned EU Directive.
This declaration applies to the website www.wiesbaden.de (opens in a new tab) and the associated microsites, but not to externally linked offers and services. The accessibility requirements result from §§ 3 para. 1 to 4 and § 4 of the BITV 2.0, which was issued on the basis of § 12d BGG.
1. status of compatibility with the requirements
The state capital of Wiesbaden is working to fully meet the accessibility requirements. Wiesbaden.de is largely compatible with the currently valid regulations on accessibility (BITV 2.0, 2023/WCAG 2.1).
The restrictions can be found in Chapter 2 "Non-accessible content".
2. non-accessible content
The content listed here is not yet fully accessible in accordance with the exception due to disproportionate burden under Article 39 of Directive (EU) 2016/2102 (opens in a new tab):
PDF documents are supposed to be produced barrier-free, but some documents (SV resolutions, minutes) are unfortunately not yet accessible
Embedded videos may not be designed to be barrier-free
For the buttons "Logo of the state capital" and "Menu", there may be restrictions in usability if the background image changes and the contrast is not strong enough.
In exceptional cases, alternative texts for images or graphics are not formulated appropriately. Designations of the type of image may be missing
The links on the page may lead to content that is not barrier-free
The state capital of Wiesbaden is successively providing further barrier-free offers. The range of content in easy language and sign language is also being expanded. Here we are working together with the inclusion officer.
3. preparation of the declaration
This declaration was created on February 25, 2025 and is continuously supplemented and updated.
The basis for the creation of this declaration on accessibility is the evaluation of the compatibility of the website with the requirements of BITV 2.0, which was put out to tender by the state capital of Wiesbaden and commissioned by the provider of the content management system (CMS).
Proof of the accessibility of the HTML code in accordance with BITV 2.0 is provided in the form of a self-test via: https://studio.bitvtest.de/ (opens in a new tab)
The other statements on accessibility and their agreement with the accessibility requirements are based on a self-assessment carried out on February 11, 2025.
