Mollath, Gustav Adolf Jacob Ludwig

After completing his commercial training, Mollath initially worked in Germany and abroad for a while. In 1911, he founded a mechanical textile factory in Berlin, which he later moved to Baden-Baden. After the First World War, he worked in the official organization of coal distribution and in the Prussian coal industry office until 1923 and was a member of the Reichstag from 1924-32, representing constituency 2 (Berlin) of the Reichspartei des deutschen Mittelstandes (economic party). He had been a member of his party's main executive committee since 1924 and was its parliamentary group chairman in 1931/32.

In 1926, he was appointed to the administrative board of the German Reichspost. A year later, he became an honorary member of the Reich Association of German Carriers. From 1931, he was President of the Central Representation for Commercial Road Transport. He also served as Vice President of the Reich Committee of the Motor Transport Industry and was a member of the Advisory Board for Motor Transport in the Reich Ministry of Transport. Mollath joined the NSDAP in 1933. In 1946, he was appointed to the Railway Transport Council of the Southwest German Railway Operators' Association and to the Conference of Transport Ministers. In 1958, he, who was also a member of the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris, was delegated to the tariff commission of the German Federal Railways as a representative of the industry. In 1951, he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit for his services.
