Zoberbier trained as a graphic artist and illustrator at the art school in his home town of Magdeburg, went to Berlin and Leipzig to study and then moved to Wiesbaden. From 1913, he worked primarily as a press illustrator, but also created etchings and drawings on technical subjects and designed posters for the automotive industry, e.g. for the companies Opel (1932) and Adler as well as for the tire manufacturer Dunlop (around 1930).
He also painted landscapes, allegorical figures and female nudes, in particular the "Dreaming Woman", some of which were sold as postcard prints. From 1919 he worked as a book illustrator.
During the time of the "Third Reich", Zoberbier became an art consultant and was involved in various Nazi art projects. These included the design of the marble plaster mosaic "Three Athletes" produced in 1937 by the "Vereinigte Werke für Mosaik und Glasmalerei" in Berlin-Treptow for the indoor swimming pool in the Ordensburg Vogelsang in the Eifel. He also took part in the "Great German Art Exhibition", which took place between 1937-44 in the "House of German Art" in Munich.
After 1945, Zoberbier continued to work as a painter, illustrator and commercial artist, e.g. for the Worms-based wine and sparkling wine producer Langenbach und Co. which celebrated its 100th anniversary in 1952.
