Settlement Wiesbaden-Südfriedhof
Opposite the Südfriedhof cemetery, on Etzelstraße, which was named Hans-Handwerk-Straße in 1939-45 after an SA man who was shot in 1932, today's Wiesbaden-Südfriedhof housing estate was built in 1938/39 as the so-called SA-Dankopfer-Siedlung. The Wiesbaden-Südfriedhof estate was built by the "Gleichgeschaltete" Nassauische Heimstätte on behalf of the so-called Rhein-Mainisches Siedlungswerk in the "Schwarzenberg - 2te Gewann" area.
Twenty simple estate houses with gardens and stables were built, comparable to those of the Kalle & Co. AG works estate, with a choice of two house types. The first houses were occupied in September 1939. Loans from the SA fund "Dankopfer der Nation" were available for financing.
The still existing Wiesbaden-Südfriedhof Settlers' Association, a member of the Verband Wohneigentum Hessen e.V., celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2013.
