Food business operators - help with self-monitoring

Every business operator and all employees who come into contact with food in any form are subject to a special duty of care towards the end consumer and themselves. In order to ensure the greatest possible safety for consumers and to protect them from health hazards, deception, disgust and other adverse effects, the legislator requires food business operators to take a certain number of measures of their own.

These requirements, which are based on the principles of the HACCP concept (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), are based, among other things, on Regulation EC 852/2004 of the German Food, Commodities and Feed Code (LFGB). These requirements can vary from business to business and depend entirely on the type of business, the product and consumer risk, the type of marketing, the distribution channels and many other aspects. Status: April 2015.

In order to provide food business operators with some assistance in this regard, the Veterinary and Consumer Protection Office offers various templates that they can use in the specified or adapted form for their own inspection.
