Wiesbadener Tafel e.V.

Wiesbadener Tafel e.V. was founded in 1999 and in 2015 is one of more than 860 German city food banks that provide people in need with food that is no longer used in the economic process.

More than 50 volunteer drivers collect food from supermarkets, bakeries, department stores, farms and private individuals every day using four of the food bank's own refrigerated vehicles and around 15 private cars. Over 100 volunteers distribute these goods on three distribution days a week at the Stephanuskirche distribution point in Klarenthaler Straße.

The Wiesbadener Tafel helps 2,800 people every week with around 200 volunteers and distributes 400 tons of food every year. The Wiesbadener Tafel is financed almost exclusively by membership fees and donations.
