Tourism Dialogue 2025 on the topics of "AI" and "Quality in tourism"

The industry meeting "Tourism Dialogue City - Country 2025" took place in Rüdesheim am Rhein - a joint event of the destination "Wiesbaden Rheingau". The all-day program focused on the topic of artificial intelligence. A total of around 170 service providers and stakeholders from the tourism industry took part in the tourism symposium.

A varied program with inspiring impulses and interactive workshops awaited the participants. "It's great to see that this event is now firmly established as an industry get-together," said Christiane Hinninger, Mayor and Head of Economic Affairs of the state capital of Wiesbaden, referring to the high number of visitors. "The topic of artificial intelligence in particular is also playing an increasingly important role in the tourism industry and is actively shaping day-to-day work. This is precisely why we should have a direct exchange on this topic, our experiences and recommendations," explained Sandro Zehner, District Administrator of the Rheingau-Taunus district.

Moderator and AI expert Alex Mirschel introduced the topic with a keynote speech. Herbert Lang, Head of Tourism at HA Hessen Agentur and Richard Hunkel, Head of Open Data and Digital Projects at the German National Tourist Board (GNTB), discussed the latest developments in quality management and the use of AI in tourism together with moderator Anna Scheffold. In the subsequent innovation workshop, participants gained valuable insights into how artificial intelligence can help to improve tourism products and services in a targeted manner. A special highlight of the morning was the quality market, where numerous exciting topics such as qualification seals or the optimization of digital content and data management were presented via speed dating.

In the afternoon, there were two excursions to choose from: a tour through the famous Rüdesheim Drosselgasse, where local hosts presented their stories and specialties, and an insight into the St. Hildegard Abbey in Rüdesheim, including a ride on the Winzerexpress. A guided tour of the abbey, which combines tradition and modern tourism management, awaited the participants.

The Tourism Dialogue is an event that emerged as a joint project from the "Wiesbaden Rheingau" destination and has been held annually since 2022. The event is organized by Wiesbaden Congress & Marketing GmbH (WICM) and Rheingau-Taunus Kultur und Tourismus GmbH (RTKT) in cooperation with the Rheingau-Taunus District Economic Development Agency, the Wiesbaden Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Dehoga Hessen, Rheingau Wine Promotion, the Rheingau Winegrowers' Association and the Rheingau Special Purpose Association. The event is aimed at service providers, service providers and stakeholders from business, culture and tourism and is offered free of charge.
