State prize "Employment and Integration"
Companies that employ people with severe disabilities above and beyond the legal requirements are awarded the Hessian State Prize "Employment and Integration of Severely Disabled People".
The German Social Code (SGB IX) obliges private and public employers who have an annual average of at least 20 jobs per month to employ severely disabled people. For companies with fewer than 60 workplaces, simplified provisions apply when fulfilling the employment quota. Numerous employers are aware of this social responsibility and combine it with the economic interests of their companies. However, these positive examples are rarely brought to the attention of the public.
The state prize "Employment and Integration of Severely Disabled People" is therefore an award for the exemplary employment and integration of severely disabled people, which has been awarded since 2006 to private-sector companies that go above and beyond the legal requirements to support severely disabled people.
The prize, endowed with 3,000 euros, is intended to help ensure that this special commitment is honored and publicized. Applications can be submitted online or in writing by June 15 of each year using the template linked below.
