Roncalli House

After the demolition of the Hospice zum Heiligen Geist in Friedrichstraße in 1969, the foundation stone for the Roncalli House was laid on May 7, 1970, which was consecrated by Bishop Wilhelm Kempf on February 19, 1972. It was named in memory of the Second Vatican Council and Pope John XXIII, whose real name was Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli.

The Roncalli House is the home of Wiesbaden's Catholic city church and houses, among other things, the Catholic Adult Education Center, the Catholic Family Education Center and the Office for Catholic Religious Education. It also houses the office of the Wiesbaden-Rheingau-Taunus Caritas Association with several Caritas facilities such as debt counseling and general life counseling, as well as a day care center for small children and the Catholic Social Shop.
