Catholic Adult Education (KEB) - Bildungswerk WI-Untertaunus
On January 27, 1975, commissioned by the Diocesan Synodal Council, the Bezirksbildungswerk Wiesbaden (BWW) was founded, which was given its current name in 2001 and later merged with the Bildungswerk Untertaunus. Catholic adult education works at the interfaces between people, the church and society and acts as a "bridge". In addition to religious and theological education and the associated orientation towards the Christian image of man, it is a provider of political, social and cultural education. In the year 2000, Catholic adult education formulated the task of communicating the connections between the church and culture as its main focus. This has resulted in close cooperation with the Museum Wiesbaden, the Hessian State Theater Wiesbaden and the FilmBühne Caligari. Since 2002, Catholic Adult Education has been a joint provider of language and integration courses with Caritas Wiesbaden. The Roncalli House and the Catholic parishes are the venues for the adult education courses.
Both full-time and voluntary staff and freelancers are involved in Catholic adult education. Even when it was founded, Catholic Adult Education was keen to cooperate closely with other municipal and independent providers of further education in Wiesbaden. The good dialog with people of other religions and cultures is made possible by numerous events in cooperation with the Protestant Church, the Wiesbaden Adult Education Center, the Jewish community and various Muslim communities.
