R+V Future Festival at the RMCC to mark the 100th anniversary
The RMCC was the venue for R+V Versicherung's two-day Future Festival to mark the 100th anniversary of the well-known insurance company.
On September 15 and 16, 2022, the RheinMain CongressCenter in Wiesbaden was the place where the future was made. Under the motto "MAKING TOGETHER TOMORROW", exciting lectures and discussions with renowned speakers from politics, research and education took place over two days.
The two-day Future Festival at the RMCC was the highlight and conclusion of R+V's anniversary campaign "MissionMiteinander", which involved various projects over the course of the year.

What made the event so special?
Many different trades were involved in the event: various technical service providers, our customer, several agencies, catering, us on the part of the company and also various authorities to approve the security concept.
This is not an everyday occurrence and required particular concentration in the collaboration. The overall project management was handled by an agency. We at the RMCC took care of the entire organization at the loading yard, among other things, so that the set-up and dismantling could run smoothly.
The Future Festival addressed various target groups. Where otherwise only a closed audience has access, the event addressed not only R+V employees but also the general public, who were able to visit the Future Festival.
Were there any challenges?
Challenges arose due to the diversity of the program and the resulting seating options. For example, the North Hall, where the main program of the Future Festival took place, was completely converted within just 3 hours for the subsequent closing event for employees. Before the closing event, a safety inspection was carried out with various authorities, such as the fire department and public order office, to clear the rooms.
We had a total of 4 days to set up the event and also had to convert various rooms in between. For example, Hall South, where the crew catering was located, was converted into a party area for the closing event after 4 days. The furniture that had previously been used for the opening event in the Terrace Hall was used for this. This allowed synergies to be created and furniture that had already been used could be reused several times.
How was it possible to organize so many events at the same time?
Four parallel lecture series took place in the North Hall. There were 7 stages in total. It was possible to hold simultaneous lectures by having the audience and speakers in the various lecture series wear headphones. This avoided loud background noise and a babble of voices, the audience was able to concentrate on the respective presentations and the hall was still nicely open and not separated by walls.
In the North Hall, airlocks and illuminated corridors were installed in the entrance area, with information boards about the project. In addition, Tiny Houses were set up here, which had previously traveled through Germany for 8 months and visited people who are "shaping the future". Corresponding exhibitions were shown in the Tiny Houses.
This made the best possible use of the space in Hall North.
Norbert Rollinger, CEO of R+V Versicherung AG, about the festival:
"I never imagined it would be like this, how gigantic it is, how great it is with these presentations and the parallel sessions. Everyone goes home with a whole bundle of ideas."
R+V project manager Hans Holzner:
"The RheinMain CongressCenter was ideal for our event. Thanks to its proximity to Wiesbaden's main train station, it is easy to reach by bus and train - important for a festival that is all about our future in times of climate crisis. We were also able to use the space flexibly."
