Hygiene in commercial facilities

Anyone who performs activities on humans in which pathogens (e.g. HIV and hepatitis viruses) can be transmitted through blood, secretions and excretions is subject to the provisions of the Hessian Infection Hygiene Ordinance of March 18, 2003, amended by the ordinance of October 22, 2008, and is obliged to carefully observe the rules of hygiene in accordance with the current state of science and technology.

Such activities include in particular

  • the practice of hair care,
  • cosmetics,
  • pedicure,
  • tattooing,
  • ear piercing and
  • the insertion of jewelry on, in or under the skin or mucous membrane (piercing).
