Inclusive cultural offerings - people with hearing impairments
Cultural events for deaf people are translated into sign language. There are also offers with hearing amplification for people who are hard of hearing.
In the spirit of cultural participation for all people, the state capital of Wiesbaden also offers cultural events for hearing-impaired people.
These include events with sign language translation, which are co-organized by the Wiesbaden Association for the Deaf. There are video announcements in sign language for these events. Die Linke to the videos can be found in the respective sections. Films with subtitles are also shown in the Caligari Cinema.
Hearing-impaired people have the opportunity to take part in guided tours with hearing amplification. Please register for this at kulturelle-teilhabewiesbadende The Caligari Cinema also offers all films with hearing amplification on loan. Events with sign language translation
Mauritius-Mediathek: Reading aloud for kids, Sat 17.05. & Sat 20.09.
As part of the "Reading aloud for kids" project, there are two reading dates with sign language interpreters:
Sat 17.05. & Sat 20.09., both 10:30-11:30 am, Mauritius-Mediathek Wiesbaden, Hochstättenstraße 6-10, Wiesbaden. Meeting point is the children's library on the first floor. The offer is free of charge & without registration.
The offer is aimed at hearing and non-hearing families and children of kindergarten and primary school age. There will also be a short introduction to sign language at the beginning so that all children can learn a few simple sign language terms and join in signing.

Guided tour of the Platter Straße Jewish cemetery, Tue 20.05.

The Jewish cemetery bears witness to 140 years of eventful history of the Jewish community in Wiesbaden and is still in use today. We invite you to a tour with a sign language interpreter.

Guided tour of the Villa Clementine, Literaturhaus, Mon 02.06.
Guided tour of the Villa Clementine, Literaturhaus, Monday, June 2, 5 p.m., Frankfurter Str. 1, 65189 Wiesbaden. Free of charge & without registration.
The Wiesbaden House of Literature has been located in the historic Villa Clementine since 2002. It belongs to the Wiesbaden Department of Culture. Readings with authors take place at the Literaturhaus. Workshops and school readings are also offered. There are also festivals, such as the Wiesbadener Literaturtage or the KrimiMärz. On Saturdays, you can sit comfortably in the villa's café and eat delicious treats.
The historic staircase and the stylish salons are shown as part of the guided tour by a member of the Literaturhaus staff. The history of the imposing villa and the program of the Literaturhaus are also explained.

Hearing amplification at the Caligari movie theater
Kino Caligari FilmBühne: As a municipal cinema, the Caligari strives to be a cinema for everyone. This also includes providing a barrier-free cinema experience for people with disabilities. People with hearing impairments or people who are sensitive to loud noises can adjust the volume of all films individually using hearing amplification equipment that can be rented. Sound-amplifying hearing loops are also available for people with hearing aids to borrow at the box office. The Caligari program also includes films with subtitles. It should be noted that unfortunately not all films are produced in accessible versions.
On request, guided tours of the permanent exhibition or the special exhibitions at the Stadtmuseum am Markt (sam) can also take place with sign language translation.
