Caligari FilmStage

Volker Schlöndorff described the Caligari FilmBühne as "a jewel among German cinemas".

The Caligari, named after the expressionist silent film "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari", is the municipal cinema in Wiesbaden. A sophisticated program is offered in the unique atmosphere of the beautifully renovated Ufa Filmpalast. It is operated by the Cultural Office of the State Capital of Wiesbaden.

Film history is kept alive in the Caligari. German film and European cinema are cultivated alongside international arthouse productions, documentaries and short films. The Dream Cinema for children and school events introduce the next generation to the art of film.

The Caligari is also the center for numerous film festivals in Wiesbaden.
