Basic requirements and guidelines for integration
Shared values as a foundation for diversity
In order to successfully bring together people of different cultures, religions, traditions and customs, we need a common foundation of values and rules. This foundation is formed by our constitution, in particular the rules for freedom and democracy, the principle of the rule of law, the separation of church and state and equal rights for men and women.
Integration as a reciprocal process
Integration is a process in which both sides - the immigrants and the host society - can benefit from each other. Solidarity, equality, responsibility and a certain willingness are the basis for this. Tolerance, acceptance and an open environment enable immigrants to integrate into the new society with the help of various offers and to contribute their talents and skills. The host society benefits from the diversity and knowledge of the newcomers and should strive to overcome existing barriers and take advantage of the opportunities offered by integration.
Integration work is flexible and solution-oriented
The process of integration is influenced by constantly changing circumstances. Therefore, work must be flexible and solution-oriented, taking into account the needs and challenges of society. The goal should be that all people, regardless of age, gender, skin color, religion, social and cultural background, disability, ideology or sexual identity, have equal opportunities to participate in society.
