A number of organizations and facilities offer meeting and exchange opportunities in Wiesbaden, usually with a parallel childcare service and sometimes especially for single parents.

Wif e. V. is a socially integrative center for encounters, education and advice. The association offers various open meetings and groups for women with a migration background.

The SkF Anziehtreff is a meeting place for mothers - not only to receive well-preserved, donated children's clothing and equipment or toys and children's books free of charge (on presentation of an entitlement card for mothers with financial difficulties).

"Welcome Baby" is a welcome offer from the City of Wiesbaden for the birth of a child with an opportunity to discuss your questions and concerns.

The association offers various groups and seminars for women on the subject of single parenthood.

A number of organizations in Wiesbaden also offer a range of courses and events in the areas of parent and family education as well as socio-political topics, culture, languages and much more.

Even if you're on a tight budget, you can organize a vacation with children. In addition to many educational and leisure facilities, there are also family recreation offers.

The Federal Working Group regularly publishes a catalog of inexpensive family recreation facilities "Urlaub mit der Familie".

Youth hostels also invite families on vacation and short trips. Single parents with their children are expressly welcome.

The city of Wiesbaden and numerous initiatives and institutions, some of which are part of the Stadtjugendring, offer a wide range of activities, educational programs and cultural events for young people on various topics, for different age groups or in relation to the district. In Wiesbaden's children's, youth and district centers, children and young people can find a wide range of leisure activities, chill out, meet friends or take part in "cool" projects - in any case - in a place where they are welcome!

"Schöne Ferien" is a varied, extensive and inexpensive vacation program offered by the city of Wiesbaden during all school vacations in Hesse with workshops, day trips and much more, also for families. The "Sommerwiese" in the Reisinger-Anlagen and the "Jugendsommer" on the grounds of the Kulturpark as well as "schöne Ferien vor Ort" are further open offers without registration with daily changing attractions, hands-on activities and creative offers. With the Wiesbaden Freizeitkarte, a 50 percent discount is granted on the fee-based offers.

You and your child or children can also take advantage of the extensive range of books and media offered by the public library (borrowing is generally free up to the age of 18) and the reading promotion programs in the district libraries.
