KinderElternZentren (KiEZ)

A KinderElternZentrum is a contact point for all parents from a district and offers joint activities and space to meet. It provides information on many issues relating to raising, supporting and educating children.

At the KiEZ, parents have the opportunity to take part in open offers or courses and group offers.

Parents can attend open offers such as the Babycafé, Babytreff or the Parents' Café without registering. Registration is required for other offers such as ZusammenSpiel or Fit for School.

Each KiEZ has a KiEZ officer who acts as a contact person for parents. KiEZ managers coordinate the offers and also offer consultation hours for individual advice.

The aim of a KinderElternZentrum is to promote the educational and developmental processes of children by supporting parents in fulfilling their parenting responsibilities and strengthening their parenting skills.

In principle, KinderElternZentren should develop additional services for parents in cooperation with institutions in the KiEZ districts that work with children and with existing networks.
