District heating

The district heating networks already supply heat to many parts of the city. They use a particularly efficient and environmentally friendly process: Electricity and heat are generated at the same time, so less energy is lost. As a result, district heating consumes fewer resources than other heating systems.

The efficient and environmentally friendly principle of combined heat and power generation guarantees district heating an extremely low primary energy factor and is therefore an excellent choice compared to other types of heating - especially in terms of the current Energy Saving Ordinance.

Customers receive district heating directly into their homes via the grid. It is therefore available at all times, without any odor or pollution. District heating makes an important contribution to environmental protection. This is because district heating is a climate-friendly alternative to heating oil or natural gas: the consumption of these fossil fuels is significantly reduced. This means that less climate-damaging CO2 is released into the atmosphere and fewer harmful particles are released into the air we breathe.
