With its large eyes and silent flight, the eagle owl is an impressive hunter of the night. You can observe Europe's largest owl up close at the Fasanerie.
The eagle owl is the largest owl in Europe and impresses with its distinctive face, feathered ears and bright orange eyes. Thanks to its silent flight and keen senses, it is a perfect hunter that is particularly active at dusk. In the wild, the eagle owl inhabits rocky landscapes and dense forests. Thanks to conservation measures, its population has recovered in recent years.
Two eagle owls live in the pheasantry.
Their names are Uhulw and Uhursula.
