If you would like to collect a lost item, you can do so at the lost and found office of the state capital of Wiesbaden. Please note that ESWE Verkehr and Deutsche Bahn have their own lost and found offices.
Ideally, we have already informed you about the submission of your item. If you have not yet received any information from us, please contact us in advance.
You can either report a loss in our online lost property service (opens in a new tab) or call us on 0611 312120 or send us an e-mail to enquire about a possible return. We will be happy to provide you with information on all items found and handed in to avoid unnecessary trips.
Please always give us a detailed description of the item as well as the place and date of loss so that we can help you quickly.
We are happy to help you in person, but work by appointment. Book an appointment at the lost and found office quickly and easily online (opens in a new tab) or by telephone on 0611 312120.

Procedure
If a lost property has been handed in and we are able to identify the owner, we will contact the person immediately.
Ideally, you have already made an online lost property report (opens in a new tab) so that we can assign the lost property at any time based on your description and contact you using the contact details you have provided.
We are happy to be there for you in person, but work by appointment. Book an appointment at the lost and found office quickly and easily online (opens in a new tab) or by telephone on 0611 312120.
Deadlines
The statutory retention period for lost property is 6 months.
Processing time
Please note that experience has shown that it can take up to four weeks for lost property to be handed in to us.
Please also note that, depending on the location, it may take even longer for the lost item to be found and handed in. Supermarkets, drugstores, shopping centers, event locations and similar places initially keep lost property themselves in the hope that the losers will contact them directly. Only then is it passed on to the lost and found office.
For this very reason, it is advisable to report lost property online. It ensures that your loss is recorded directly and remains stored with us for a period of 6 months. This enables us to notify you quickly as soon as your lost item has been handed in.
We ask for your understanding and will be happy to answer any further questions you may have.
There may be waiting times during opening hours.
We therefore recommend that you book an appointment in advance. Book an appointment at the lost and found office quickly and easily online (opens in a new tab) or by telephone on 0611 31-2120.
