Change of address within Wiesbaden

If you move within Wiesbaden, you must re-register at the citizens' office or a local authority.

If you are under the age of 16, the person whose home you are moving into is responsible for re-registration. If you are of legal age and a guardian or caretaker has been appointed for you who can determine your place of residence, this person is responsible for the re-registration.

If you are moving within Wiesbaden with your main residence, you can complete the re-registration online. To do this, you will need a German ID card or eID card with the online ID function (opens in a new tab) and PIN activated (click here (opens in a new tab)).
If you do not have the online ID function, you can re-register using the video identification procedure (opens in a new tab).

When re-registering with the registration office, you must present written confirmation from the landlord/landlady or a person authorized by him/her(landlord confirmation (opens in a new tab)).

We are happy to help you in person, but only work by appointment. Book an appointment quickly and easily online in the appointment calendar at the Citizens' Office or the local authorities.
