Board of Appeal
Anyone who has received an administrative act from the magistrate or the Lord Mayor may lodge an objection. Persons who have lodged an appeal may present their arguments to the Appeals Committee. The Appeals Committee discusses the arguments with the persons concerned and the experts from the respective offices. The aim is to reach an amicable agreement. If no agreement can be reached, the committee makes a recommendation as to how the appeal should be decided.
The Appeals Committee is an independent body of the City of Wiesbaden. It consists of three people. The chairpersons are the legal advisors of the Legal Department. The two assessors are elected by the City Council.
Anyone who has lodged an appeal receives an invitation to the meeting of the Appeals Committee. Those who have expressly waived their right to a hearing do not receive an invitation. In some cases, the law also states that no hearing is required. The invitation is sent out by the office of the Appeals Committee at the Legal Department. The office also answers questions about the Appeals Committee.
