The Eurasian wolf, also known as the gray wolf, is the largest predator in Europe and an important part of the natural balance. With its thick fur, strong stature and pronounced social behavior, it lives in family groups, known as packs. Wolves are clever hunters and feed mainly on ungulates, but also on smaller prey. Thanks to conservation measures, wolves are slowly returning to their original habitats.

Twelve gray wolves live in the pheasantry.
