Mink

The European mink is a rare and highly endangered marten. With its dense, dark fur and white markings on its chin and lips, it is easily recognizable. It lives close to the shore and is an excellent swimmer. Due to habitat loss and competition with the introduced American mink, its population has declined sharply. Conservation programs are trying to save this rare species.

A European mink lives in the pheasantry. Her name is Anita.
