Collection of cultural and everyday history
The collection of the "sam - Stadtmuseum am Markt", which has been under construction since 2001, is particularly dedicated to the cultural and everyday history of Wiesbaden from the 19th to the 21st century.
Collection of cultural and everyday history
The "sam - Stadtmuseum am Markt" has already collected over 15,000 different objects relating to the city of Wiesbaden and its citizens.
The more than 15,000 objects that have been collected over the last ten years are mainly from the 19th to 21st centuries and, as different as they are, they all have one thing in common: a connection to the city of Wiesbaden and its citizens. Regardless of whether the objects were acquired by purchase, donated or are on permanent loan to the "sam - Stadtmuseum am Markt", they must have a connection to Wiesbaden.
The objects range from historical clothing to furniture, from flyers and advertising leaflets to field post letters and emergency money from the Weimar period, from memories of the cosmopolitan spa town to items from Wiesbaden's factories and companies.
