Aerial photos

The Wiesbaden Civil Engineering and Surveying Office has a collection of aerial photographs taken for municipal purposes.

Vertical photographs

  • Analog and digital black-and-white and color photos at a scale of 1:2,500 to 1:10,000 from the years 1966 to 2020.
  • Current digital color photos from March 24, April 1 and April 2, 2020.

Orthophotos

  • Corrected, true-to-scale aerial photographs, derived from vertical photographs.
  • Digital color orthophotos of the aerial surveys of March 24, April 1 and April 2, 2020 with a ground resolution of about 10 cm.

Infrared aerial images

  • Analog and digital vertical images with infrared channel.
  • Analog images from 1977/78, 1984, 1987 and 1990 at a scale of 1:5,000.
  • Digital aerial survey from July 2, 2006 with color infrared orthophotos and a resolution of approx. 20 cm.

Row oblique photographs

  • Systematically arranged color photos looking north from 1988 and 1995.
  • Digital oblique photos from March 24, April 1 and April 2, 2020 with views to the north, south, east and west and a resolution of approx. 17 cm

Historical aerial photographs

  • Black and white oblique images of selected objects in the city area from 1926 to 1935.

These aerial photographs and orthophotos are used by municipal offices, engineering offices, architects and private individuals for various purposes.

The orthophotos from the aerial surveys of March 24, April 1 and April 2, 2020 are available online together with the city map at a scale of 1:10,000 and thematic maps.
