Guardianship authority

The guardianship authority provides information and advice on the possibilities of legal provision and is the point of contact for matters relating to legal guardianship for adults.

For persons of legal age who, for health reasons, are no longer able to organize their lives independently and without support and are therefore to be assigned a guardian as their legal representative, the guardianship authority acts in advance on behalf of the guardianship court. It draws up a social report and - if necessary - suggests a suitable guardian to the court. The care authority also ensures that there is a sufficient supply of suitable caregivers in the city.

Another task of the care authority is to inform the citizens of Wiesbaden about the possibilities of legal care. This includes, in particular, powers of attorney, advance care directives and living wills. In addition to personal discussions and information events, the brochure "Legal precautions - you decide, who decides!" with important forms is also available to citizens for this purpose. Wiesbaden citizens can obtain the brochures free of charge from the care authority.
