Urban development
In the Urban Development department, we shape perspectives for the future of the state capital of Wiesbaden. We take a position on the positioning of Wiesbaden in the Rhine-Main and South Hesse region when state development and regional plans and the urban land-use plans of neighboring municipalities are drawn up or amended.
The land use plan is currently being redrawn on the basis of the adopted Wiesbaden 2030+ integrated urban development concept. In addition, Wiesbaden 2030+ forms the framework for further sub-spatial and specialist studies and concepts. This also includes the development of design concepts for public spaces in the city of Wiesbaden.
Creating new homes and jobs on increasingly scarce land, developing concepts for new mobility and maintaining Wiesbaden as a "green city" are current challenges that are being tackled as part of sustainable urban development.
The project series "Experimental spaces for sustainable urban development" is being worked on together with colleagues from the Urban Development and Special Urban Development Projects departments.
