After completing his second parish examination in Wiesbaden in 1898, Schlosser became a vicar, worked as an assistant preacher from 1901 and as a parish priest at the Ringkirche in Wiesbaden from 1906. During the war and post-war period, he rendered outstanding services by leading the Workers' Association, promoting the church choir, the Evangelical Federation and the Gustav Adolf Association. He wrote a commemorative publication for the 25th anniversary of the Ringkirche in 1919. In 1927, he was appointed 1st professor and director of the Theological Seminary in Herborn.
In addition to his work as a pastor and university lecturer, he published numerous essays on the regional and, in particular, church history of Nassau. These include his contributions to the "Nassauische Lebensbilder" as well as his publications on the Hohe Schule and the history of Herborn. He was a member of the board of the Verein für Nassauische Altertumskunde und Geschichtsforschung. His main work is considered to be the commemorative publication on the centenary of the Union in Nassau (1917). The University of Bern awarded him an honorary doctorate in 1909.
