Lotterie-Treuhandgesellschaft mbH Hessen (LOTTO Hessen)

Lotterie-Treuhandgesellschaft mbH Hessen is an associated company of the State of Hesse and is based in Wiesbaden. In February 1949, the Hessian state parliament passed the Sports Betting Act and laid the foundation stone for the establishment of "Staatliche Sportwetten GmbH Hessen". This meant that the first official TOTO games could start in Hesse on April 10. On June 29, 1956, today's main product LOTTO 6aus49 was introduced in Hesse and in 1965 LOTTO Hessen was established as the successor to "Staatliche Sportwetten GmbH Hessen" and "Staatliche Zahlenlotto GmbH Hessen".

The company offers a wide variety of lotteries and bets, including LOTTO 6aus49, Eurojackpot and the sports betting ODDSET. LOTTO Hessen generates an annual turnover of around €600 million and employs almost 200 people. Around half of the turnover from all games and bets is paid out as winnings. LOTTO Hessen also contributes around € 130 million annually to sport, culture, social affairs and the preservation of historical monuments in Hessen.
