The Schlachthof cultural center, one of the best-known concert and cultural venues in the Rhine-Main region, has several event rooms with space for up to 2,000 guests as well as an adjoining restaurant with a beer garden, the so-called 60/40 in the middle of the "Kulturpark". The new Schlachthofhalle was opened in 2012 and the restored Schlachthof water tower in 2015.

The program mainly includes concerts and discos, as well as theater performances, flea markets and readings. The "core collective", consisting of 25 full-time employees, is assisted in its daily work by up to 100 mostly student assistants. The concert program includes hip-hop, punk music, indie, electro, reggae, hardcore, soul, world music, jazz and avant-garde. The Schlachthof cultural center has become one of the central venues for pop culture. Around 370 events take place here every year, attracting more than 160,000 visitors from all over Germany and abroad, depending on the event.

In addition to the Schlachthof Cultural Center, the Schlachthoframpe memorial commemorates the deportation of Wiesbaden's Jews during the Nazi era.
