Künstlergruppe50 Wiesbaden was founded in 1950 by the painter and gallery owner Christa Moering and the painter Heinz-Rudi Müller. Back then, 30 artists came together to form a loose association. Although it consists of individualists, the Künstlergruppe50 has demonstrated successful, lively and creative cohesion for many years. Today, the group consists of 21 artists representing different styles.

The diversity of creative approaches and techniques ranges from the representational to the abstract, painting and etching complement computer graphics, graffiti art, photography, installation and sculptural works.

The group and individual members have already exhibited their works in countries such as Russia, France, Spain, China, Israel, Egypt and Austria. The group has also organized its own exhibitions in Wiesbaden's twin cities, such as San Sebastian, Görlitz, Klagenfurt, Wroclaw and Fatih (Istanbul). Nevertheless, the Künstlergruppe50 is and remains a city group. It has given many artists a home and has become a part of Wiesbaden's cultural life over the years.
