Herxheimer, Family
The Herxheimer family was one of the most important Jewish families in Wiesbaden. Its origins lie in the village of Herxheim near Landau in the Palatinate. Probably in connection with the Coalition Wars, the merchant Isaac Seligmann (1757-11.04.1833) moved to Dotzheim before 1801 and took the name of his birthplace for himself and his family.
His marriage to Zerline (Zerla) Mayer (1779-26.01.1843), a native of Dotzheim, produced two sons, Salomon Herxheimer (1801-1884) and Herz (called Hermann) Herxheimer, and three daughters.
