Protestant City Academy Wiesbaden

The Evangelische Stadtakademie Wiesbaden was launched in January 2011 as the successor to the Arbeitsstelle Bildung, which had existed since 1985. The program of the Protestant City Academy includes lecture series, seminars, discussions for special target groups, readings, thematic city walks, excursions, film programs, exhibitions, educational vacations and study trips. Cooperation partners are educational and cultural institutions in Wiesbaden - above all the Volkshochschule Wiesbaden e.V., Catholic adult education, municipal cinema, the Literaturhaus and Hessische Staatstheater Wiesbaden.

Within the church, the Academy's tasks include advising parishes and church institutions on adult education issues. It is also responsible for designing further training courses for volunteers in the Protestant Deanery of Wiesbaden. With the Protestant City Academy, the Protestant Church in Hesse and Nassau implements its educational mission, which the church constitution defines as follows: "Education as an education of life, faith, knowledge and heart aims to support people in fulfilling their tasks in the world and their testimony in society."
