ATELIER Römerberg e.V.
ATELIER Römerberg e.V. was founded in 1981 by the sculptor Thomas Duttenhoefer and other artists. The association was named after its former headquarters in the Bergkirchenviertel; its premises are now located at Luisenstraße 8.
ATELIER Römerberg is an association of artists, art lovers and art enthusiasts. Members have access to a range of courses offered by professional members in nude drawing and painting, painting, sculpture, photography and printing techniques, as well as the opportunity to work independently and participate in workshops. ATELIER Römerberg maintains contacts with the cultural offices in Wiesbaden and Mainz, which gives members the opportunity to take part in group exhibitions or organize solo exhibitions.
Every summer, a ten-day symposium is held at Dhaun Castle in the Hunsrück region, during which participants have the opportunity to work in nature on the artistic realization of their impressions. In addition, trips abroad are organized, especially to Poland and France.
The members of the artists' association regularly present their works in the studio, but also in other locations, such as on a larger scale at the Luisenforum at the beginning of 2011 and at the end of the same year, on the occasion of the association's 30th anniversary, in the new town hall of the city of Wiesbaden. In 2013, numerous members took part in an exhibition at the Aukamm Clinic in Wiesbaden and in 2014/15, the studio organized an extensive presentation of works by the artist community in Hochheim am Main under the title "KUNST-WERK".
