Asklepios Paulinen Clinic GmbH

The roots of Asklepios Paulinen Klinik GmbH go back to the 1850s, when Duchess Pauline Friederike zu Nassau founded a maids' hostel to provide care for the ever-increasing number of maids in the flourishing spa and bathing town. In 1896, the facility was transformed into the Paulinenstift hospital.

Under the management of deaconesses, a new building was constructed on Schiersteiner Straße in 1966. Liquidity problems led to the hospital being handed over to Asklepios Kliniken GmbH in Kronberg in 1989. However, Diakoniegemeinschaft Paulinenstift initially remained the hospital's sponsor and was involved in key decisions. At the same time, an optional purchase agreement was concluded. After Asklepios took over the management, an extensive renovation program was carried out and a state-of-the-art health center was created with investments of the equivalent of € 25 million. The change of ownership was officially completed in 1994. The "Paulinen Krankenhaus GmbH" took over the management of the Paulinenstift Wiesbaden hospital, which has since been called Asklepios Paulinen GmbH.

Following the change of ownership, Asklepios Paulinen GmbH is also committed to the ethical values of the Protestant Church and Diakonie. Since then, the hospital has been part of a network of more than 90 facilities at 70 locations in Germany. By the turn of the millennium, the number of patients treated had risen by 40%, the number of beds was increased and specialist departments such as geriatrics and a new maternity ward were set up.

The focus is on oncology and geriatrics. The new health center with specialists, a pharmacy, a medical supply store, a physiotherapy and occupational therapy practice and its own bistro on Schiersteiner Strasse, which was built in 2006, serves to network with doctors in private practice.
