Mozart Society Wiesbaden

The Mozart Society has been an integral part of Wiesbaden's musical life since it was founded in 1963. In addition to the numerous concerts and events it has organized over the past decades, it has also established a prize to promote young artists. In 1983, the Mozart Society was awarded the Wiesbaden Culture Prize.

According to its principles, the Mozart-Gesellschaft Wiesbaden, which was founded in 1963, aims to preserve Mozart's legacy, listen to his works, get to know them, receive them and experience them anew, as well as promote young talent. Innovative cultural projects incorporate Mozart's music into new compositions. In addition to internationally renowned artists, the society also offers up-and-coming artists the opportunity to present their sometimes modern interpretations of Mozart's classical works. In this context, a prize was created specifically to promote young artists.

In 1983, the Mozart Society was awarded the Cultural Prize of the State Capital of Wiesbaden for its commitment to offering young artists a platform for competitions, workshops and master classes, bringing Mozart's music closer to a wide audience, especially children, and building bridges with other art forms through cooperation projects with painting, design, architecture and literature. In numerous concerts in the Kurhaus (Kurhaus, new), over 200,000 visitors have experienced a mixture of tradition and modernity over the past decades. In 2013, the Mozart Society celebrated its 50th anniversary. Thanks to the large number of friends, sponsors and partners, the Mozart-Gesellschaft is well equipped for further projects in the future.
