Your job? Preserving!
As the "memory of the state capital of Wiesbaden", the city archive documents the history of Wiesbaden with over 4,500 linear meters of files, documents and books as well as over 5,000 maps, plans and posters etc.. The oldest archive is over 650 years old and dates back to 1351. And new documents and files are added daily, which you select and make available for visitors to find and use.
Your tasks? Save the past!
- You will secure, evaluate and describe analog and digital documents, photos and other information carriers and record them in a database.
- You will organize the storage of archive materials.
- You will advise and assist visitors to the archive.
- You will be involved in the archive's public relations work by preparing exhibitions, lectures and guided tours.

- Start of training: September 1
- Duration of training: 3 years
- Practical training: Wiesbaden City Archive (opens in a new tab)
- Theoretical training: Stauffenbergschule Frankfurt (opens in a new tab) and at the Verwaltungsseminar Frankfurt/Main (opens in a new tab)
- Examinations: Intermediate examination in the 2nd year of training, written and oral final examination in the 3rd year of training
- Further training opportunities: in-service training to become a specialist in media and information services, for jobs with specialist and management responsibility in archives
- Career prospects: Job in an archive that is operated either by a public body (federal, state, local authority), a foundation, a company, a political party, a church or an association

Must-haves
- Good secondary school leaving certificate or advanced technical college certificate/abitur
- Very good written and spoken German language skills
- Health suitability for working on the screen and in the archive's stacks
Nice to Haves
- Interest in the history of Wiesbaden and the surrounding area
- Interest in working with media - from old documents to digital files
- good general knowledge
