Professor Dr. Ute Knippenberger becomes new Managing Director of SEG
SEG Stadtentwicklungsgesellschaft Wiesbaden mbH is getting a new Managing Director. The Supervisory Board of SEG has appointed Prof. Dr. Ute Knippenberger as Managing Director with effect from September 1 at the suggestion of the Wiesbaden City Council.
The appointment is initially for three years, as announced by the Chairman of the Supervisory Board, City Councillor Andreas Kowol. Knippenberger succeeds Managing Director Andreas Guntrum, who is retiring at the end of the year.
Knippenberger, who holds a doctorate in engineering and architecture, previously held various management positions in municipal urban planning and university teaching and can therefore look back on many years of experience in the field of sustainable urban development. She has been sharing her experience in urban and project development with public and private project sponsors for four years as a professor at the Faculty of Business and Law at Aschaffenburg University of Applied Sciences. Knippenberger is also very familiar with the tasks of urban development and urban planning as well as with the administrative processes at municipal level, particularly in the state capital of Wiesbaden, thanks to her work as head of the urban development department of the urban planning office of the state capital of Wiesbaden and the urban development and environment department of the city of Kronberg im Taunus.
"Prof. Dr. Ute Knippenberger brings with her extensive expertise in the areas that are important for her new role as Managing Director of SEG: For example, the focus of her previous work has been on sustainable real estate project development and the application of urban planning instruments to implement private and public projects," explains Andreas Kowol, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of SEG. "The fact that we have been able to recruit a highly qualified and motivated managing director gives me confidence in the future of the company and urban development policy in Wiesbaden."
"As a municipal real estate and urban development company, SEG is a key player in the provision of services of general interest and urban development services in the interests of and for the state capital of Wiesbaden. I am very pleased to be able to use my skills and experience as Managing Director for SEG and to continue its successful work. I would like to thank the Wiesbaden City Council and the Supervisory Board of SEG, and in particular the Chairman, City Councillor Andreas Kowol, for the trust they have placed in me," explains the future Managing Director Ute Knippenberger.
