The matinée will be opened by the young pianist Luka Leikam, who has been playing the piano since the age of twelve. He now receives lessons from Prof. Ulrich Meining at the WMK. Last year he was awarded the Drosihn Prize and since January 2025 he has been a young student of the PreCollege - a cooperation between the WMK and the Wiesbaden Music Academy (WMA) to promote young talented musicians. At the matinée, he will perform works by Frédéric Chopin and Ludwig van Beethoven.

The piano and flute duo, consisting of Yiqing Huang and Katharina Helmerich, will then perform. Both can already look back on multiple successes at the "Jugend musiziert" music competition, where they last competed as a duo. Having won first prize in the regional competition, they will now travel on to the state competition at the end of March. Both are also participants in the newly founded PreCollege of the WMK and WMA. They will play pieces by Friedrich Kuhlau, Francis Poulenc and Carl Reinecke for visitors to the matinée.

The matinée will be rounded off by singer Talia Nojumi, who also successfully took part in this year's "Jugend musiziert" competition in the singing (pop) category and qualified for the state competition. Talia began playing the piano at the age of five and has been taking singing lessons from Christine Fürniß-Stephan at the WMK since 2015. The audience at the matinée can look forward to pieces by Etta James, Billie Eilish and Talia's own composition "Let Him Go".
