Crime novel reading with Wolfgang Schorlau from "Black Forest"

In his new crime novel in the Dengler series, Wolfgang Schorlau deals with hot topics in energy policy. On Thursday, March 13, the 2016 Wiesbaden crime fiction scholarship holder will present the volume "Black Forest" at 7.30 pm at the Literaturhaus Villa Clementine, Frankfurter Straße 1, and will be in conversation with moderator Thomas Koch. The event is organized by Literaturhaus Villa Clementine/Kulturamt Wiesbaden.

In his eleventh case, private detective Georg Dengler returns to the place of his childhood. Worried about his mother, he travels to the Black Forest and takes a close look at her farm. She sees dark figures creeping around at night on the Feldberg, where the family owns a piece of land. Coincidentally, it also happens to be an ideal location for a wind turbine, were it not for the local opposition. Dengler realizes that his family is in the middle of a fierce battle over local energy production and is on high alert. Suddenly, the leading activist is found dead and not only corrupt state politicians and greedy middle-class businessmen come under suspicion, but also the nuclear lobby of all people.

Wolfgang Schorlau was born in 1951 and is known as an author of political crime novels. He has been awarded the Stuttgart Crime Fiction Prize several times, was a poetry lecturer at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen and received the German Crime Fiction Prize for "Dunkles Schweigen" in 2006. In 2016, he was a crime fiction scholarship holder of the state capital Wiesbaden.
