"Stormy Weather" - jazz standards meet free improvisation
On Tuesday, March 18, 7 p.m., students of the classes Alexandra Pugh and Jan-Filip Ťupa invite you to a special concert experience of the Wiesbaden Music Academy at the Kulturforum, Friedrichstraße 16. Admission to the concert is free.
In a world in which musical boundaries are becoming increasingly blurred, "Stormy Weather" invites the audience to rediscover musical tradition and innovation in a unique way. "Stormy Weather" is the theme under which students of the Wiesbaden Music Academy's pop singing class and free improvisation embark together on a musical journey in which jazz classics such as 'Summertime' and 'A foggy Day' provide the springboard to dissolve structure into chaos and then renew themselves again in the next frequency band.
The combination of familiar melodies and the freedom of improvisation creates a dynamic atmosphere in which emotions and creativity are to the fore. The musicians use their individual styles and techniques to breathe new life into classical music.
"Stormy Weather" is not just a concert, but an experience that touches the soul and stimulates the senses. Perhaps very calm. Perhaps also quite uncomfortable. Visitors can let themselves be carried away by the energy and the performance and enjoy an evening full of musical surprises, emotional floods and improvisational highlights.
