City libraries: "Getting old made easy" lectures

Anyone who deals with the many facets of ageing at an early stage can set the course for an independent life in old age. The lecture series helps you to make well-prepared individual decisions for the future. All events take place in the reading café of the city and music library in the Mauritius-Mediathek, Hochstättenstraße 6-10. Participation is free of charge.

Interested parties will have the opportunity to obtain comprehensive information and ask their own questions. The following topics will be offered:

Thursday, April 24, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Mobility in old age

What can you think about in order to remain mobile in everyday life in old age? Possible aspects to consider.

Thursday, May 22, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Legal precautions

Due to illness, old age or after an accident, it can happen that important decisions can no longer be made by yourself, for example decisions about health or finances. Lecture on powers of attorney, advance care directives and living wills.

Thursday, June 26, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Entrance areas, stairwells, hallways - comfortable and barrier-free

What options are there for designing entrances and hallways to meet needs?

The lecture series is a cooperation with the advice center for independent living in old age, the open elderly work and the advice center for barrier-free living.
