City council decides to draw up development plan for the BKA
At its meeting on Wednesday, April 2, the city council passed the resolution to draw up the "Federal Criminal Police Office" development plan and the amendment to the land use plan, which is running in parallel, by a large majority.
The aim of the planning is to create the necessary building rights for the BKA's new central location and to create the necessary development measures.
The BKA is planning to build a new central location as an "all-in-one" solution on the approximately 30-hectare site to the west of Erbenheim. The aim is to bundle the BKA's properties and uses, which were previously scattered around the city, in one location. In this way, the authority wants to position itself for the future and employ up to 7,000 people at the site in the future.
The first step in the process is the formal initiation of the land-use planning procedure. It is associated with the mandate to the administration to first prepare the preliminary draft on the basis of an urban development design. The urban planning design substantiates the winning design of the Ostfeld urban and landscape planning ideas competition for the BKA site by schneider + schumacher Städtebau GmbH with GTL Landschaftsarchitektur Triebswetter, Mauer, Bruns Partner mbB.
The urban land-use planning is being carried out in a two-stage participation process, in which the authorities and the public can also get involved at various planning stages.
