Worth noting
The twinning between Wiesbaden’s Bierstadt district and the community of Terrasson has been active since 1991. It was established after the two schools Collège Jules Ferry in Terrasson and Wiesbaden’s Theodor-Fliedner-Schule had already enjoyed a twinning for several years.
The twinning association and the Comité de Jumelage now foster the relationship through regular mutual visits and trips to the other district twin town, often accompanied on the 1,000 kilometre journey by representatives of Bierstadt’s associations. During those visits, guests are usually lodged with host families, which have resulted in many personal friendships over the years.
Participating in Easter and Christmas Markets (Easter in Bierstadt, Christmas in Terrasson) is also part of the exchange. The joint meetings of representatives of both associations are an annual highlight. They are held in a different location in either Germany or France, which makes each meeting a special occasion and guarantees smooth cooperation.
