Worth seeing
Ocotal in the north of Nicaragua is the capital of Nueva Segovia province. It is shaped by the nearby Dipilto Mountains.
The “Monumento San Francisco” and Ocotal´s Cathedral with its new bell tower, as well as other historic buildings, are among the city’s most prominent sights.
Archaeological digs are conducted near Ocotal, where buildings and tombs of ancient cultures are suspected to slumber beneath the surface.
