Experimental spaces for sustainable urban development

Biebrich station quarter: the inclusive 15-minute district

With the rules of sustainable urban development, the state capital of Wiesbaden is becoming greener, more productive and socially fairer. In the experimental space in Biebrich, a sustainable neighborhood for living and working for all people is being created.

Experimental space Bahnhofs.Quartier Biebrich

Bahnhofs.Quartier Biebrich - The inclusive 15-minute district is located around the Wiesbaden-Biebrich regional train station. A central but ageing urban area with many weaknesses is being transformed into an attractive and inclusive district for living and working. Within 15 minutes, everyone can reach everything they need for their everyday lives without having to use their car. This also includes attractive parks and squares, social and cultural facilities and small supermarkets.

The Wiesbaden-Biebrich regional train station is particularly important for the new district. It creates identity and connects the district with the Gibb, Alt-Biebrich, the Schlosspark and the Parkfeld and Rosenfeld estates.

The rules of sustainable urban development are being implemented in the planning and development of Bahnhofs.Quartier Biebrich. This is the first time that they have been applied to urban development in the state capital of Wiesbaden. The project is thus an experimental space with which we are ensuring that the new quarter will be green, productive and socially equitable.
